Abstract
V šolah so danes v uporabi tiskani in elektronski delovni zvezki. Naloge so raznolike in večinoma primerne razvojni stopnji.

Title:
Teachers' views on the use of printed and electronic workbooks for social studies in the 5th grade of primary school
Abstract:
Teachers and students in primary school use different teaching materials and accessories. One of them is a workbook, which helps students to assimilate, upgrade, deepen and refresh the knowledge with various exercises. Teachers can use printed or electronic workbooks. Printed workbooks usually include exercises; but some of them also have short presentations of the content that is supported by pictures, drawings and graphical displays. Electronic workbooks usually have the same content as the printed ones, but they are upgraded with multimedia and interactive elements. These help students with different VAK models to receive the information in the way that suits them best. They also enable students to learn concepts, phenomenon and objects that cannot be studied in the school or home district. No research has been found about how teachers and students in Slovenia use a workbook in the subject of society. The aim of our research was if Slovenian workbooks for society, in teachers’ opinions, correspond to a constructivist teaching approach that is encouraged in the national curriculum for society. The constructive approach is learner-centred approach. Its main concept is that learners are actively constructing knowledge through multiple activities, with the use of their prior knowledge and communication with other students and the teacher. Our research compared printed and electronic workbooks. Besides, it revealed teachers’ experiences with workbooks gained during the home schooling period. The research used the descriptive and casual non-experimental method. Teachers who taught the fifth grade in primary school in the school year 2019/20 were sent the online questionnaire about their opinion of professional-didactic aspect of workbook for society. We have found out that the majority of teachers use the combination of printed and electronic workbooks. The results have shown that exercises in the workbook help develop thinking. Content and vocabulary included in the workbooks are appropriate. They include diverse exercises that are generally adjusted to the students’ development phase. Teachers believe that in printed workbooks students like crosswords, rebuses, quizzes and the exercises in which some imagination could be used. The most popular part of the electronic workbooks are the elements of the multimedia, for instance videos. There are not enough group work activities in the workbooks. During the home school period, more teachers used electronic workbooks than before.
