This article shows how media representations and Slovenian vocabulary are replete with heteronormativity as an ideology that establishes the relations between heterosexuality as a natural, biological, and normative fact and homosexuality as a deviation that must nonetheless be tolerated. The author presents this relationship based on dictionary definitions of homosexuality and by presenting the genesis of the development of terminology to describe homosexuality. In the conclusion, all of this is applied to the representation of homosexuality in Slovenian print media.
