The master's thesis addresses the use, role, and influence of the Slovenian media among Canadian Slovenes, in the Slovenian diaspora in Vancouver. The Slovenian media includes media in the Slovenian language, which have headquarters in Slovenia and abroad. Attention is primarily on online media and modern information, and communication technology, which transcends action in space and time. Modern life, in the age of networked society and constant technological progress, are erasing time and space boundaries. This enables increased connectivity between the diaspora and the home country, as well as through media connections and communications. In this way, individuals in the diaspora are maintaining the collective identity.
