Introduction: With computerization, digitization, and automation, a lot of health information has moved online. The number of elderly people and people with disabilities is increasing worldwide, so due to various disabilities it is necessary to think about those people when ensuring the accessibility and usability of websites that provide such information. Purpose: The diploma work presents the problems of elderly and people with disabilities when accessing online health-related information and services, explores whether, and to what extent, health-related online information and services are accessible to the elderly and people with disabilities. Methods: We reviewed the existing literature and examined the websites containing health related information. We evaluated the literature using a descriptive method of work, looking up Slovenian and foreign scientific literature published between 2010 and 2020. Eight articles were included. We used a WAVE automated web tool to review accessibility of websites. The tool assessed accessibility according to WCAG guidelines 2.1. Seven domestic websites were selected for review. Results: The analysis of the articles showed predominant number of inaccessible pages. Authors of studies reviewed a total of 1131 websites from 11 countries around the world. The most common discrepancies were found in the principles of "perception" and "operation". In our survey all pages contained errors. By the seven reviewed pages the automated online tool detected 70 errors, 123 alerts, and 182 contrast errors. Discussion and conclusion: The authors of the studies identified a number of shortcomings in ensuring the accessibility of websites. We came to the similar conclusions in our research. Authors pointed out the necessary changes in national policies, in monitoring and evaluation of guidelines, and changes of the design of websites. Despite the perceived discrepancies, we can say that the analysed Slovenian websites of health organizations and eZdravje are good or better accessible in comparison to the global ones reviewed by the studies. We suggest a national analysis with an expert review to be performed in Slovenia.
