Abstract
Pričujoča naloga raziskuje ilustriranje in oblikovanje lastne otroške slikanice z naslovom Ian podari dudo. V uvodnem delu se posvetim vprašanju kakovostne otroške slikanice oziroma verbalni in vizualni podobi knjige. Teoretični del obravnava ilustracijo, predvsem vprašanje, ali bi bilo mogoče, da ilustracij ne bi prilagajali otrokovi starosti. Pri tem ni obravnavano vprašanje, kako otroci zgodbo razumejo (prav ali narobe), vendar gre zgolj za njihovo interpretacijo zgodbe in razumevanje vizualnega. Končni rezultat je izdelava ilustracij za slikanico z naslovom Ian podari dudo brez posebnega prilagajanja glede na starost bralcev. Konec koncev so slikanice lahko namenjene vsem starostnim skupinam.

Title:Picture book: Ian gives away his dummy
Abstract:
The following thesis explores the illustration and design of the author's own children's picture book Ian podari dudo (Ian gives away his dummy). The introductory part of the thesis focuses on the issue of quality children's picture book as well as the verbal and visual image of the book. The theoretical part deals with illustration, concentrating on the question, whether to adjust illustrations to the children's age or not. This does not address the question, how the children understand the story (right or wrong), but their interpretation of the story and understanding of the visual. The research finally results in a set of illustrations for the picture book Ian podari dudo (Ian gives away his dummy), without any special adjustment according to the age of the readers. After all, picture books can address all age groups.
