In comics, a speech act is marked with a speech bubble where space is often very limited, so interjections are usually used to allow for condensed expression. In addition, comics often include interjections as part of the artwork too: they mimic different sounds and serve to illustrate the auditory impression, which is particularly characteristic of certain genres such as superhero comics. The article presents the results of an analysis of the use of interjections in Tomaž Lavrič's Ratman, a parody of the superhero genre.
