Making a film on your own is a demanding job. Many steps need to be taken to get the final product,
from the idea to writing the script, drawing the storyboard, choosing the filming team, editing.
Typically, the work is divided so that we have a recording team, an acting team, a team that edits
the footage into the final product, special effects creators if they are involved in the medium,
sound designers, color correction experts, and so on. In the diploma work, we decided to make
a short video product based on a screenplay, which had to contain all the mentioned parts in the
production. In the pre-production, we met with the planning of the work and how important it
is to precisely determine the course of filming and thus make it easier to make a film. The filming
took place in several locations so we could feel what it was like to film under different conditions.
We used the Canon 600d camera, which is one of the most affordable cameras to shoot with. We
wanted to use the equipment that is most accessible, and experiment with what is possible without
the use of expensive cameras and lights, and thus show that even with accessible equipment we
can create appropriate product. We edited the product shots in Adobe Premiere Pro, as it is the
most suitable for editing. We have also selected sounds and music that are freely available and can
be used for non-commercial purposes. During the work, we also adjusted and constantly repaired
the product. We also added additional clips or removed old ones to get the best approach to the
desired product. The result of the work is a product that tells the story of who / what influences
our lives and decisions. With this, we achieved the set goals and gave an analysis and evaluations of
the results in the conclusions of the diploma work.
