Abstract
Invazivnega širjenja pavlovnije v strnjene in ohranjene gozdne sestoje nismo odkrili.

Title:Subspontaneous occurrence of paulownia (Paulownia tomentosa (Thunb.) Steud.) in Breginjski kot
Abstract:
Princess tree (P. tomentosa) is considered an alien species on the warning list in Slovenia, so it is necessary to monitor its spread. Therefore, the purpose of this study was primarily to determine its distribution in the area of Breginjski kot and to assess the danger that the species poses with its potential invasiveness. Thus, we recorded all the specimens present in the field, where we focused on the data on the tree itself and the site. With a census of 261 trees, we found that the population, with the exception of a few older trees in the forest environment, is quite young, older trees are planted in villages, the oldest is about 40 years old. Most of the trees were found in fellings, which is confirmed by the research done so far, which showed that they need a lot of light and bare soil for germination and further growth. Where the soil is shaded by undergrowth no new specimens were observed. The results indicate the age of most specimens between 1 and 6 years, this coincides with the occurrence of felling. 91 percent of the young trees were found within a radius of 1 km from the nearest tree that already produces seeds, and none were more than 2 km away from it. Invasive spread of the species into dense and preserved forest stands was not detected.
