Abstract

Title:
Jackpot systems in gambling
Abstract:
A jackpot is an unusually large win awarded to the player while playing electronic gaming machines in a way which appears random. Most of us are familiar with the movie scene of days past, where a player wins big and the coins start falling out of the machine. Nowadays jackpots look different. Over time the systems have evolved to be ever more complex with many possible configurations. In this thesis, I will describe a jackpot system that I developed for the company I work for. In this thesis I will present the problem domain and explain how the system works from a player's point of view. Later on we will take a look at how we implement such a system and solve the problems that I've faced along the way.
