The master's thesis deals with the preparation of the test facility and the first laboratory tests
performed with the electrostatic measuring method in the pneumatic transport of coal dust.
For the newly built dedicated laboratory testing facility, it was necessary to determine the
operating boundary conditions and settings that allow the observation of pneumatic transport
of coal under similar transport conditions as in reality in pulverized coal-fired power plants.
A review of the literature in the field of electrostatics and pneumatic transport was
performed. The preparation of a coal dust sample, from isokinetic capture in a thermal power
plant to sowing and drying, is discussed. Calibration of the vibration feeder of coal dust was
performed, as well as electrostatic measurements on coal dust samples. Analysis of the
results shows the influence of velocity and particle size on the voltage level of the
electrostatic signal.
