Abstract
Nobena druga žival ni človeku tako blizu kot pes. Pes je človekov spremljevalec, družabnik, vodnik slepih, pomočnik gibalno oviranim. Pse terapevte vključujemo v različne institucije in v različne dejavnosti. V magistrskem delu z naslovom Vključevanje terapevtskega psa k uram dodatne strokovne pomoči je predstavljeno delo s terapevtskimi psi kot oblika pomoči učencem, ki obiskujejo ure dodatne strokovne pomoči. V teoretičnem delu je predstavljen odnos med človekom in živaljo, ki se je razvijal skozi tisočletja. Na kratko je predstavljena zgodovina terapije s pomočjo živali. Opredelili smo različne oblike posredovanja s pomočjo živali. Predstavili smo tudi nekatera slovenska društva za terapijo s pomočjo psov. V nadaljevanju je opisano delo s terapevtskimi psi, kjer smo se osredotočili na področje vzgoje in izobraževanja. Opisali smo nekaj primerov dobrih praks vključevanja terapevtskih psov v vzgojno-izobraževalne institucije. Predstavljene so tudi številne raziskave o vplivu terapevtskih psov na vedenje, motivacijo in učne dosežke učencev. Prav tako smo predstavili dodatno strokovno pomoč, ki je namenjena odpravljanju primanjkljajev, motenj ali ovir učencev z različnimi vzgojno-izobraževalnimi potrebami. V empiričnem delu so predstavljeni problem, cilji raziskovanja in metodologija. Opisan je postopek zbiranja in obdelave podatkov. Z uporabo narativne metodologije je predstavljenih pet primerov dobrih praks, ki so zapisani v obliki zgodb. Iz zgodb smo ugotovili, da terapevtski pes predstavlja spodbudno učno okolje in da s takšno obliko pomoči lahko vplivamo na socialni, čustveni in akademski razvoj učencev. Vpraševanke so navedle številne prednosti, ki jih ta oblika pomoči prinaša. Največkrat opažen vpliv, ki so ga vpraševanke navedle, se kaže kot večja motiviranost, sproščenost in umirjenost učencev. Vpraševanke so poudarile, da takšna oblika pomoči prinaša veliko dodatnega dela in prilagajanja pri pripravi in izvedbi ur dodatke strokovne pomoči. Drugih ovir oziroma omejitev posebej niso izpostavile. Navajajo le, da je v primerjavi s povpraševanjem, terapevtskih parov premalo.

Title:Integration of therapy dogs into additional professional assistance
Abstract:
Dogs are the closest animals to humans, they are our companions, partners, guide and assistance dogs. Nowadays therapy dogs take part in different institutions and in different activities. Master thesis with title Integration of therapy dogs into additional professional assistance, presents work with therapy dogs as a way of helping students, that visit hours of additional professional assistance. Theoretical part presents human – animal bond that was developing for thousands of years. The history of animal assisted therapy is being briefly introduced. We described different forms of animal assisted interventions. We also introduced some Slovenian associations for dog assisted interventions. After that, we described work with therapy dogs, where we focused on the field of education. We described some examples of good practices of integrating therapy dogs in educational setting. Various researches about impact of therapy dogs on behavior, motivation and academic achievements of students, are also presented. Furthermore, we introduced additional professional assistance, that is intended to help students with different educational needs to decrease deficiencies, difficulties and disorders. Problem, goals of research and methodology are presented in empirical part. The process of gathering and processing data is written up. Using narrative methodology, five cases of good practices are written down and presented in stories. Stories tell us, that therapy dogs form encouraging learning environment and that we can impact on social, emotional and academic development of students. Interviewees named many advantages of bringing therapy dogs to additional professional assistance. Mostly they mentioned increased motivation, reduced feelings of stress and calmness of students. Interviewees stated that bringing therapy dogs to additional professional assistance, brings in a lot of extra work and adjusting during preparation and performing additional professional assistance. They didn’t mention other limitations or barriers, except that there aren’t enough therapy couples.
