Abstract
Danes smo s tehnologijo obkroženi na vsakem koraku; mlajše generacije odraščajo ob računalnikih in pametnih telefonih, z nekaj kliki je mogoče priti do lahko dostopnih informacij, preko sodobne tehnologije so otroci zelo blizu tujemu jeziku, za motiviranje učencev med poukom pa so se tudi učitelji začeli posluževati uporabe informacijsko-komunikacijske tehnologije (IKT). Gre za pristop, ki ga je za pravilno in učinkovito uporabo treba najprej usvojiti. Spletna učilnica je spletno orodje, ki omogoča združitev različnih orodij v eno skupno. Ker se uporablja za administracijo, dokumentacijo, sledenje in poročanje med izobraževalnim procesom, je primerna za izobraževalne namene. Učiteljem omogoča nov način poučevanja. Vsak posameznik si spletno učilnico uredi glede na svoje potrebe. Učitelju je olajšan prenos znanja, hkrati pa ima možnost spremljanja napredka učencev in pregledovanja njihovih aktivnosti. Pripravljene naloge dajejo učencu izbiro prilagajanja ritma učenja, zaradi česar so učenci samostojnejši. Učitelj spremlja, katere naloge so večkrat rešene, kje se pojavljajo napake in nejasnosti. To mu pomaga pri nadaljnjem poučevanju. Kvizi dajejo učencem možnost sprotnega preverjanja znanja na zanimiv način in dajo takojšnjo povratno informacijo. Znotraj spletne učilnice je preko klepetalnic in forumov možna komunikacija med učitelji, učenci in starši. V magistrskem delu bom analizirala slovenske spletne učilnice, ki jih osnovne šole uporabljajo pri poučevanju angleščine v prvem in drugem triletju osnovne šole, in intervjuvala pet učiteljev o njihovi uporabi spletne učilnice pri pouku angleščine. Želim pridobiti informacije o tem, kako razširjena je uporaba pri nas, katere možnosti, ki jih omogoča spletna učilnica, uporabljajo učitelji angleščine, kaj jim je všeč in kaj ne ter ali učilnico uporabljajo pri pouku ali samo izven pouka. Z magistrskim delom bom prikazala pregled stanja in namen uporabe spletne učilnice za poučevanje angleščine v osnovni šoli. Menim, da se veliko učiteljev ne zaveda vseh pozitivnih strani spletne učilnice in se bojijo uporabe sodobne tehnologije, ker je to za mnoge nepoznano področje. Predstavljeni rezultati in predstavitev pozitivnih/negativnih strani spletne učilnice bodo prispevali k lažji izbiri načina poučevanja z uporabo spletne učilnice pri pouku angleščine kot tujega jezika.

Title:Teaching English using online classroom in the first and second triad of elementary school
Abstract:
Today we are surrounded with technology everywhere. Young generations are growing up with computers and smart phones. A couple of clicks provide you with easily accessible information. Modern technology brings children closer to English. Teachers have started using information and communication technology (ICT) to motivate students. This approach has to be mastered first for its proper and efficient use. Learning management system (LMS) is a web tool that is combining different tools into a common one. Because it is used for administration, documentation, tracking and reporting during educational process, it is appropriate for educational purposes. It offers teachers a new way of teaching. Each individual can edit their learning management system according to their needs. Transfer of knowledge is faciliated, and at the same time teachers have the opportunity to monitor the progress of their pupils and review their activities online. Tasks in the LMS give the learner the choice of adjusting to their own rhythm of learning, which makes them more autonomous learners. The teacher monitors which tasks are often solved, and which tasks have the occurrence of errors and confusion. This helps the teacher with planning further teaching. Quizzes give learners the ability to instantly check their knowledge in a fun way and give immediate feedback. Communication between teachers, students and parents is possible through chat rooms and forums. In my Master's thesis, I will analyse Slovenian LMSs used by primary schools for teaching English in the first and second cycle, and interview 5 teachers about their concrete use of the LMS in their English classes. I want to explore how widespread the use of LMS is in our country, what options, provided by LMS are used by teachers of English, what they like and do not like about using it, and whether it is used in or out of the classroom. With my Master's thesis, I will give an overview of the situation and the purpose of using LMS to teach English in primary school. I think that many teachers are not aware of all the positive aspects of their use and are afraid of modern technology, because this is an unknown area for many of them. The presented results and the discussion about positive/negative aspects of the LMS will contribute to an easier choice of teaching methods using the learning management system in English as a foreign language.
