When a company became part of a multinational corporation, it had to accept ways of working that has already been adopted. New ways of working with advanced information and communication technology have created opportunities for improvements in the field of work and work processes.
By describing the organization in general and the various organizational structures, I found that the selected company is functionally organized. The company is divided into several work units in Slovenia. The work unit in Koper is in charge of oversees transport and consequently the import of groupage shipments from the Far East.
Even though the company has different quality standards, there is room for many improvements in the work process itself. In describing the work process of importing groupage shipments, I identified opportunities for improvements presented by various methods to organize work processes.
