Abstract
Čeprav kognitivni trening postaja vedno bolj priljubljen, študije o njegovi učinkovitosti ne kažejo enoznačnih rezultatov. Medtem ko so se v nekaterih študijah pokazali pozitivni učinki treninga na fluidno inteligentnost in druge kognitivne sposobnosti, se v drugih niso. Študij, ki bi preverjale učinkovitost kognitivnega treninga pri normativnih otrocih srednjega otroštva, je malo. Prav tako so redke študije, ki vključujejo večpodročni kognitivni trening, izveden v klasični papir-svinčnik obliki. Namen moje magistrske naloge je bil ugotoviti, kakšen je vpliv kognitivnega treninga v obliki rednega reševanja miselnih nalog iz zbirke Misleca (Bucik idr., 2013) na kognitivne sposobnosti v obdobju srednjega otroštva. V raziskavi je sodelovalo 38 otrok (povprečna starost = 8 let in 5 mesecev, SD = 3,0 mesece), ki so bili po naključju razdeljeni v eksperimentalno in kontrolno skupino tako, da je bilo v obeh enako število otrok. Po začetnih testiranjih fluidne inteligentnosti, verbalne fluentnosti, delovnega spomina, sposobnosti preklapljanja, inhibicije in vidno-prostorskega načrtovanja so se za eksperimentalno skupino pričeli treningi, ki so potekali v obdobju šestih tednov po trikrat na teden. Otroci so po vsakem posameznem treningu poročali o motivaciji za trening. Kontrolna skupina je bila pasivna. Po šestih tednih so sledila ponovna testiranja s kognitivnimi testi. Rezultati so pokazali pozitiven vpliv treninga na fluidno inteligentnost, medtem ko se učinek treninga na ostale kognitivne sposobnosti ni pokazal. Rezultati so prav tako pokazali, da se je zdel otrokom trening zanimiv in so bili večinoma motivirani pri reševanju nalog.

Title:Impact of regular training with tasks from Misleca collection on cognitive abilities in middle childhood
Abstract:
Cognitive training is gaining in popularity, but studies on its effectiveness have not shown consistent results. While some studies have shown positive effects of training on fluid intelligence and other cognitive abilities, other studies have not. Furthermore, studies of the effectiveness of cognitive training in normative children in middle childhood are rare, as are studies on multicomponent cognitive training carried out in classic paper-pencil form. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of regular cognitive training with mental tasks from the Misleca (Bucik et al., 2013) collection on cognitive abilities in middle childhood. Thirty-eight children participated in the research (mean age = 8 years and 5 months, SD = 3 months) and were randomly divided into experimental and control groups of the same size. After initial tests to measure fluid intelligence, verbal fluency, working memory, switching ability, inhibition, and visuospatial planning, the experimental group began training. This was conducted three times a week over a period of six weeks. After each session, children reported on their motivation for solving the tasks. The control group was passive. After six weeks, both groups of children took cognitive tests again. The results showed positive effects from the training on the children’s fluid intelligence, while no effects on other cognitive abilities were observed. The results also showed that children found this type of training interesting and were mostly motivated to solve the tasks.
