Abstract
Uvod: Razvojna motnja koordinacije oziroma dispraksija označuje motnjo v senzorični obdelavi prispelih dražljajev, ki otežuje k cilju usmerjeno in smotrno delovanje. Starši otrok z razvojno motnjo koordinacije so pomembni člani in partnerji v delovnoterapevtski obravnavi.

Title:Occupational therapy for children with developmental coordination disorder : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Developmental coordination disorder or dyspraxia denotes a disorder in the sensory processing of received stimuli, which makes it difficult to work goal-oriented and purposeful. Developmental coordination disorder is based on brain dysfunction. Early treatment is crucial for children with this disorder, as it enables them to engage in activities that are important for their development and further life. Purpose: The purpose of the thesis is to review the literature and determine which occupational therapy approaches in the literature are presented as suitable for the treatment of children with developmental coordination disorders. Work methods: We conducted a literature review, which was oriented at identifying research in the field of occupational therapy and children with developmental coordination disorders. The literature search was carried out with the search engine of the electronic database of the Digital Library of Slovenia (Digitalna knjižnica Slovenije) and in three electronic databases: ScienceDirect, PubMed and Sage Journal. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were used in the selection. Results: From the collection of 292 articles, 8 scientific articles were included in the final analysis and synthesis. The qualitative synthesis of the obtained data provided two content theories concerning the effectiveness of approaches in the treatment of children with developmental coordination disorder and the role of parents in the treatment of children with developmental coordination disorder. Discussion and conclusion: An early inclusion in occupational therapy treatment is important for children with developmental coordination disorders. Effective approaches to occupational therapy for children with developmental coordination disorders include a cognitive approach in the process of learning to effectively perform daily activities and the neuromotor task approach. Authors often mention these approaches and they prove that they show strong positive effects on the treatment of children with developmental coordination disorders. Parents of children with developmental coordination disorders are important members and partners in occupational therapy treatment. In the case of school children with a developmental disorder of coordination, it is important to cooperate with the child's educational institution. The review of literature shows a lack of research on the topic of the effectiveness of approaches and research with a larger sample of children with developmental coordination disorders, in order to obtain more accurate results.
