In today's world of entrepreneurship, planning and related activities are essential for improving business, optimizing production, reducing costs and gaining competitive advantage. Companies are increasingly looking to optimize production and shorten product lead times in order to meet deadlines. It is critical to harmonize actual and planned lead times. The aim is to eliminate activities that do not add value to the product, reduce waiting times between orders, prevent unnecessary internal transportation and fix improperly installed production systems to improve material throughput.
As part of the master's thesis, we defined the main causes of longer lead times and order delays using material flow analasys and order confirmation data from the SAP program. Based on obtained data, we provided suggestions and solutions for the improvement of production capacity and productivity. For the new arrangement of departments and orders we used the Schmigalla triangular method, which eliminates and minimizes internal transports. In SAP we carried out an analysis of the data linked to order confirmations and found, that during the detailed planning of the disposition of the orders start date, an unreasonable waiting time was used, which later affected the orders end date. Due to the newly defined waiting times, delays in the order dates are largely eliminated.
