Values are the guidelines that guide our lives, thinking and acting. Values represent the goals and ideals we strive for. They are notions of what is good and right and what is worth striving for. In my master's thesis, I focused on the analysis of public opinion research on values in Slovenia. I was interested in which values the younger generation (up to 35 years old) has and which the middle generation (36-45 years old) and whether there have been changes in the values between the generations between 1999 and 2017 or whether they remain the same. In addition, I was interested in whether there are differences within the younger generation according to the socio-demographic status of the respondents, or whether the younger generation is both homogeneous and middle. I found that there were no significant changes in the meaning of values in eighteen years. Both generations also have similar values, which means that the younger generation will enter the middle generation period with similar values as they already have.
