The diploma thesis consists of the design and manufacturing of a hydraulic clamping device for clamping castings. The first part of the diploma thesis presents the current state of processing, the background of the problem and the set goals for improving the whole process. It briefly shows the machining process that is performed on the machine tool. This is followed by the presentation of the theoretical background of an ergonomically designed workplace. Listed are the guidelines, rules and requirements that must be followed when designing clamping devices. Next, the hydraulic circuit that takes care of the operation of the hydraulic clamping device is presented, which is followed by a presentation of individual components that are needed to achieve the desired pressure and its transmission through the system. In the work methodology, the necessary calculations for the sizing of the device, the selection of hydraulic cylinders, pipelines and the hydraulic unit are discussed. Further on, the structure of the clamping device, the solutions for ensuring the repeatability of the clamping and ensuring constant quality, and the operation of the device itself are presented. This is followed by the calculation of the maximum permissible force on a certain base and the calculation of the minimum required clamping force, which ensures constant clamping during the action of the cutting force. Then the course of the service process is presented, where the layout of the workplace and the course of the workpiece on the machine tool are shown. This is followed by a cost presentation of the production of a hydraulic clamping device, a comparison of the processing time and the calculation of the depreciation period of the clamping device.
