The master's thesis presents theoretical starting points on morality, moral education and the meaning of fairy tales, summarized with the obtained empirical data. The purpose of the master's thesis was to determine whether preschool teachers and assistant educators advocate morality and moral education in preschool children and how, i.e. by which means, preschool teachers and assistant educators introduce moral education in their group. The theoretical part is based on morality, preschool children's moral education, its importance, and the values that we encounter at every step. Various moral judgment theories are defined, whereas the most attention is paid to Kohlberg's theory of moral judgment and the meaning of fairy tales, focusing on the history and role of fairy tales and their importance to this day. While writing, I focused on fairy tales, our familiarity with them, and their importance, all the while being aware of the moral teachings we communicate through fairy tales and pass on to preschool children, preschool teachers, and assistant educators.
