Savinja River with its tributaries presents an important element in the landscape of Savinja Valley and is crucial for the local population and economy. The development of industry and the dominance of conventional agriculture by the river have particular consequences for water quality. In the final thesis, I primarily deal with the pollution of running surface waters in Lower Savinja Valley, which is of agricultural origin. In the general part, I presented the basic geographical features of Lower Savinja Valley and Savinja River with its tributaries. The data on the physiochemical parameter values in waters in Slovenia is obtained by Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO). I analysed the data, sorted it technically and temporally and presented it with the help of maps, graphs and charts. The results of the analysis showed that the pollution of Savinja in Lower Savinja Valley increases downstream to an extent. In addition to the activities along the watercourse, a good part of the tributaries also contributo to pollution.
