The thesis tries to show the arrival of the Uskok population in the area of Bela krajina in the 16th century, who were forced to move due to the Turkish invasions. A historical review shows the reasons for the migrations of the Uskok population, and their function in the country, especially in the defense area of the Vojna krajina. In addition, we get an insight into their way of life, customs, new culture, language and Orthodox religion. The research was mainly based on the diversity and cultural specifity of the Bela krajina villages where the descendants of the Uskoks live. Customs and habits are also described, confirming that diversity can be present even in small area.
