Every day we throw away a huge amount of waste in our households, which pollutes our environment. To keep nature cleaner, packaging waste can be recycled and reused. Not only do we take care of our environment and save money, but we also develop our and the children’s creativity and ingenuity. With a toy made from packaging waste, we teach children the importance of separating waste and encourage the development of their motor skills. The thesis is intended for educators of preschool children. We would like to encourage professionals to recycle and reuse packaging waste and to present them with various ideas for making toys with which children aged 1-2 will develop their motor skills and construct. The thesis consists of theoretical and empirical work. The theoretical part describes the starting points of environmental education, construction, vocational education in the preschool period, the child's motor development, the basic functions and tasks of packaging and its recycling. The empirical part presents the results of a questionnaire, with which We wanted to find out to what extent professionals themselves make toys from packaging waste and what significance the game of construction has for them. We have found that most professionals offer children a construction game every day, and sometimes they also make the toy themselves. Therefore, We designed and manufactured 5 toys from packaging waste with which the child constructs and tested 3 of them in a preschool group of children aged 1 to 2 years. Finally, We analyzed the set goals and hypotheses and evaluated the practical implementation in the preschool.
