Undergraduate thesis confronts socially accepted working morality with an atypical personal decision for unemployment of the youth. Employment is automatically followed as a social norm and consciously decided jobless youth seems to be suspicious and lazy in the eyes of the majority. In the theoretical section it attempts to describe the main flow and contributions of anthropological research of youth, work and new direction in the anthropology of ethics and morality: personal freedom. The last is debated in establishment of self-formation, which produced also the decision for life without job. In ethnographies' analysis it represents five biographical stories, based on deepened conversations with five young persons. It gives a framework of their values and attempts to look from the anthropological view which is empathetic to its subject. The ethnography tries to be in pedagogical relationship with potential reader and build new perspectives on different ethical decisions and acts.
