Abstract
Leta 2019 smo na Biotehniški fakulteti postavili poskus, kjer smo spremljali rastno dobo in preučevali razvitost sadik poprove mete (Mentha x piperita L.), citronske melise (Melissa officinalis L.) in origana (Origanum vulgare L.). Lotili smo se generativnega in vegetativnega razmnoževanja s potaknjenci (vršni in bazalni). Poskus je bil izveden v treh ponovitvah. V sklopu rezultatov smo obravnavali rastno dobo sadik, delež ukoreninjenih potaknjencev in število vzniklih sejancev, višine sadik, števila glavnih in stranskih poganjkov in razvitost koreninske grude.

Title:Seedling growth ov various herbs with generative and vegetative propagation
Abstract:
In 2019 we have performed an experiment at the Biotechnical Faculty, where we have monitored the growth phase and studied the seedlings development of peppermint (Mentha x piperita L.), lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.) and oregano (Origanum vulgare L.). We undertook generative and vegetative propagation by cuttings (top and side). The experiment has been performed in three replicates. As part of the results we have considered seedlings growth, the number of rooted cuttings and seedlings, the height of seedlings, the number of main and side shoots and the development of the root ball. As we have expected, the seedling growth of generative propagation is longer, in our case by 64 days compared to cuttings. With this experiment we have confirmed that a larger number of seedlings is obtained during vegetative propagation. Higher seedlings were grown with vegetative propagation. Compared to generative propagation the difference was 10 to 15 cm. A larger number of main shoots is obtained with seedlings, the difference is with side shoots, which seedlings have very few, most of them were developed with top cuttings. The development of the root ball is very even with seedlings and top cuttings, although there is a small deviation with side cuttings in the less developed root system.
