Abstract
Življenjska doba močnostnih pretvorniških naprav je pogojena predvsem z zanesljivostjo vgrajenih elektrolitskih kondenzatorjev. Sprotno spremljanje njihovega staranja omogoča pravočasno napoved morebitne odpovedi naprave, kar znižuje stroške remonta in povečuje njihovo razpoložljivost. V magistrskem delu sta predstavljeni zasnova in izdelava merilnika ekvivalentne serijske upornosti za spremljanje staranja elektrolitskih kondenzatorjev. Za meritev toka kondenzatorja sem razvil posebno tuljavo Rogowski na tiskanem vezju. Testi več različic izdelanih tuljav Rogowski so pokazali dobro linearnost, saj so meritve medsebojne induktivnosti odstopale samo +/- 1,5 % od srednje vrednosti. Na podlagi prelimiarnih rezultatov sem načrtal prototipni merilnik ekvivalentne serijske upornosti in ga stestiral na referenčnih kondenzatorjih z znano (dodano) serijsko upornostjo. Izkazalo se je, da je negotovost merilnika ekvivalentne serijske upornosti +/- 5 %, kar zadostuje namenu uporabe.

Title:Development of an equivalent series resistance meter with Rogowski coil for continuous monitoring of the aging of electrolytic capacitors
Abstract:
Life-cycle of switching power converters is mostly defined with the reliability of in-build electrolytic capacitors. On-line life-cycle monitoring of these capacitors enables timely predictions of their failure, which can reduce maintenance expenses and power converter down time. The following thesis describes the design and construction of an equivalent series resistance meter for life-cycle monitoring of electrolytic capacitors. For current measuring, a special Rogowski coil made on a printed circuit board, was designed. Test of multiple Rogowski coil variants shown good linearity, with coupling inductance varying only +/- 1.5 % from the mean value. Based on preliminary test results, an equivalent series resistance measurement prototype was designed and tested on a reference capacitor with known (added) series resistance. The test results show that the measurement uncertainty was +/- 5 % which is sufficient for the purpose of life-cycle monitoring.
