Abstract

Title:Hot workability of AISI 321H stainless steel
Abstract:
Diploma thesis ''Hot workability of AISI 321H stainless steel'' was performed to determine the workability of AISI 321H steel and compare the simulation of plate rolling on a thermomechanical simulator of metallurgical states Gleeble 1500D and industrial rolled plates in the company SIJ Acroni d.o.o. AISI 321H steel is titanium stabilized stainless steel. Workability was determined through the results of one-step pressure tests on a Gleeble 1500D thermomechanical metallurgical state simulator and the Hansel-Spittel equation for a mathematical description of workability. For this purpose, 21 pressure tests were conducted. The tests were performed at temperatures of 1250, 1200, 1150, 1100, 1050, 1000 and 950 ° C and strain rates of 10, 1 and 0.1 s-1. The process of dynamic recrystallization in pressure specimens was also explained. The curves plotted according to Hansel-Spittel were compared with the experimental curves of one-step pressure tests. The comparison between the plate rolling simulation and the industrial rolled plate was performed on the surface, quarter and middle of the plate. The thermomechanical conditions of the simulation were determined from the rolling parameters of the investigated industrially rolled plate. The crystal grain size distribution was compared. The proportion of δ-ferrite of the simulated and industrially rolled plate on the surface, quarter and middle of the plate was also analysed. Additionally, DTA analysis was performed and a phase diagram was drafted in ThermoCalc. The phase diagram was compared with the real microstructure.
