This diploma about mud treatment in deep drilling, is directly linked with the field of drilling technologies which are nowadays commonly used all over the globe. Process which is being presented is one of the most important processes of deep drilling. Based on the mud that is being used for drilling it is possible to determinate which processes for mud treatment will be needed. The purpose of this diploma is to present the process of mud treatment in deep drilling while also considering factors that it depends on. Presented process of mud treatment is focused on water and oil-based muds. Also, besides the process, the solids control systems and equipment are being presented. When talking about solids control equipment all the cleaning devices that are usually used are presented. They are shale shaker, degasser, desander, desilter, decanter centrifuge. Also, there is some talk about other equipment needed for mud treatment. But to actually accurately treat muds you also need to perform all the different tests for testing all the rheological properties. Those are also of a great importance when deciding a proper way of treating a specific mud, which is why they are also presented a little bit.
