Abstract
Diplomsko delo sestavljata teoretični in empirični del.

Title:
Parent's views on the child's introduction to kindergarten
Abstract:
In the diploma thesis I focused on introducing children to kindergarten, especially in the direction of how the parents deal with the process. The thesis consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part I described the concept of family and then I defined child's role in it. Subsequently I connected family education and pre-school education in kindergarten which significantly complements it and after that I described introduction of child in kindergarten. In that part I focused on the details of the preparation of the child for kindergarten, simultaneously I focused on role of parents and educators during the introduction child to kindergarten and described the process. In the empirical part I used a survey about introduction child to kindergarten that consisted of nineteen questions. Sample consisted of parents of children aged from 11 months to 6 years, all of them are attending kindergarten Luče, Solčava and Ljubno ob Savinji. Due to lack of sufficient numbers of completed surveys and due to the pandemic of Covid – 19 I included a few more parent of children from kindergarten Gornji Grad and Tabor pri Vranskem. I was interested in how and where parents get the information about introducing children to kindergarten and how children are prepared to enter kindergarten, how parents and their children experience the introduction to kindergarten and which are the factors that helps children and parents cope easily with a given situation.
