Abstract
V praktičnem delu smo kemične lastnosti preučevali s pomočjo terenskih in laboratorijskih t. i. hitrih testov.

Title:Comparison of selected chemical properties of soil in arable and meadow areas in the area of Ribnica
Abstract:
This paper addresses the problem of comparing selected chemical properties of soils in the Ribnica area. In the theoretical part, we reviewed the literature on the studied area, and also determined the selected chemical properties of the soil and their importance for plant development. In the practical part, we studied the chemical properties with the help of field and laboratory so called rapid tests. We found that the results could not be fully equated with established laboratory analysis, as rapid tests are based on subjective evaluation of the colour scale. The advantage and usefulness of rapid tests, however, is reflected in the convenience of field study, as the work is easy and estimates are readily available. With rapid tests, we analysed five samples whose selected chemical properties were already known to us in advance, and four samples with unknown properties. Analysis showed that the Ribnica area is less well supplied with phosphorus, and the pH values mostly range between 4 and 6. The nitrogen content was moderate after testing. It turned out that the pH was lower on uncultivated areas than on cultivated areas, and the nutrient content in arable land was more than twice as high as in meadow areas.
