The main purpose of the present BA thesis is to design an interdisciplinary (combining visual arts
and poetry) guided tour of the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection for students of 3rd
and 4th years of secondary school. The thesis focuses on the Museum of Modern Art, its service,
permanent collection and permanent placements, with the main centre of attention being the
institution's pedagogical role and pedagogical programs. The role of museum pedagogy is
presented along with the crucial role of networking of schools, museums and galleries. Described
are the vital importance of interdisciplinarity as well as different methods and approaches in
museum pedagogy. The role of imagery in poetry is in special focus along with modern procedures
both in poetry and in art, developing through isms of the 20th century. Through the means of
comparison, links are established between Slovenian works of art, presented in the Musem of
Modern Art, and contemporary poetry. In the proposed guided tour, the theoretical basis of
museum pedagogy is connected with interpretations and comparisons between visual arts and
poetry.
