The key for successful and quality preschool education is cooperation between kindergarten
and parents. Upon entering the kindergarten, the child leaves the safe shelter known to him -
the family, and meets the wider world unknown to him. Introduction to kindergarten is a
stressful time for the child as well to the parents and preschool teachers, so it is important that
the foundations of cooperation between kindergarten and parents is built before child enters
kindergarten.
In my diploma I used causal-non-experimental methodological pedagogical research, I used the
interview as the instrument. I found out that the first contact and communication between the
preschool teachers and the parents is made in the first introductory meeting. Parents think that
there should be more pre-introduction activities, so they would get to know life and work in
kindergarten better. I also found out that both the preschool teachers and parents put a lot of
emphasis on trust, cooperation and adaptation even before introduction. They both find it
important that in the time of introduction to the kindergarten we do not try to enter new things
to the child, such as: separation from the pacifier, separation from diapers, citation on their own
room, etc. During the introduction the preschool teachers think it is important to spend as much
time with the children on the pillow as possible, where the children feel safe and don’t feel
alone. But the parents think that the children should get used to the routine and get to know the
teachers and the children.
