Abstract
Danes se svet bori proti onesnaževanju okolja iz naslova kmetijskih dejavnosti. Največji problem pri zatiranju plevela in zaščiti rastlin povzročajo FFS (pesticides), saj ob nepravilni uporabi škodujemo okolju, pridelkom/krmi in tako posredno tudi človeku oziroma živalim. Največji problem FFS so glikofosfati, ker negativno vplivajo na organizem. Tipične lastnosti plevelov so hitra rast ter agresivnost do poljščin, z njimi tekmujejo za vodo, hranjive snovi in svetlobo, lahko pa so tako zelo agresivni, da uničijo poljščine. Poznamo več vrst zatiranja plevela: fitofarmacevtska sredstva, mehansko okopavanje, ročno odstranjevanje plevela, ožiganje plevela, pomagamo pa si lahko tudi s sajenjem primernih poljščin oziroma rastlin (hitrorastoče, da prekrijejo zemljo; pokrivne rastline ipd). Ožiganje plevela smo izvedli na čebuli in korenju na medvrstni razdalji 75 cm. Ožiganje smo izvedli trikrat na vsaki poljščini, kjer se je ožiganje izkazalo kot uspešno le pri nižih hitrostih in z veliko porabo plina, kar pa je hkrati tudi slabost takšnega načina zatiranja plevelov.

Title:Energy consumption in weed burning
Abstract:
Nowdays the world is batteling against environmental pollution within agricultural activities. When it comes to suppression of weeds and protecting the plants the biggest problems are pesticides. Their incorrect use can extensively harm environment, crop/stern and thus indirectly endangers humans and animals. One of the issues with pestecides are glyphosates, which negatively affect organism. Typical properties of weeds are rapid growth and consequently aggression toward crops, with which they have to fight for water, nutrients and light; there is also the possibility their aggression is so severe they destroy the crops. We know several methods of effective weed control: pestecides, mechanical hoeing, manual weeding, burning the weeds. We can also help ourselves by planting suitable crops or plants (fast growing to cover the ground; cover plants, etc.). In our experiment we preformed burning of the weeds on onions and carrots on inter-row distance of 75cm. We preformed weed burning three times on each crop, where the use of fire turned out as success only at lower speed, with high gas consumption, which is also a disadvantage of this method of weed control.
