Comprehension and comprehensibility as professional forms belong to linguistic. Comprehension is a process that allows comprehender to define meaning of text. Different factors affect it: comprehender-related, social and textual. Comprehensibility is formal feature of text, which can have it's level determined. In the thesis the following criteria of comprehensibility are presented: consideration of comprehender, lexical and syntaxic simplicity, conciseness, linguistic correctness, communicativeness and coherence. Criteria of lexical simplicity is connected to biblical linguage. Biblical language is often present in Church, where Bible plays an important role. That is the reason why many ways of interpretation, exsegesis, revival and inculturation are described in the thesis. Because biblical language is God's word in human language, the comprehension is also different. Faith and presency of the Spirit are necessary, but also knowledge of of the text feature and it's literary forms. In the second part the analysis of the pastoral letters for lent of Slovenian bishops between 2010 and 2020 is presented. Criteria of comprehensability is taken into account just partly. Here the author stresses out, that futher evaluation would be on point for relevant conclusions. She came to the similar conclusion regarding analysis of biblical language. Biblical language is divided in four categories (quotation, reference, summary and biblical vocabulary), where the aspect of comprehension is emphasized.
