Abstract

Title:Variant solutions of stormwater drainage from the road in the settlement of Rogoznica : graduation thesis
Abstract:
Due to the increasement of structures being built in our environment, which turns permeable soils into impermeable ones and regular extreme weather events with intense downpours, there is an increase of surface runoff of rainwater from hardened surfaces, which flow into existing sewer systems. Because of this these systems are undersized for today's situation, as they are no longer able to regulate such amounts of runoff, which causes floods. The same problem occurs when draining rainwater from roads. An additional problem here is that even today, unfiltered water from them is often discharged into sewage systems and then into drains. Such a method of drainage is not in accordance with the legislation and environmental policy, which seeks to control the collection of rainwater and it's treatment before it's discharge into respective recipients in order to reduce the burden of untreated water and improve the environment. Regarding these issues, the thesis of the work presents alternative solutions for rainwater drainage for a section of a public road in the settlement of Rogoznica in the municipality of Ptuj, which does not comply with the current legislation and environmental requirements. Lastly, the two solutions will be compared economically and based on this comparison an optimal solution will be selected.
