Diplomsko delo obravnava reakcije časopisja na Koroški plebiscit 1920. Naloga se osredinja na analizo reakcij časopisja in njihove propagande na Koroški plebiscit, kar tvori empirični del diplomskega dela. Teoretični del pa zajema zgodovinsko ozadje, dejavnike, ki so vplivali na razvoj časopisja, ter razloge, ki so privedli do plebiscita. Tiskani mediji so bili v obravnavanem času izrednega pomena, saj so bili edini način množičnega podajanja informacij, zato so ključni za razumevanje takratnih propagandnih strategij.

• Title: „God Helps Those Who Help Themselves“. Responses of German and Slovenian Press on the Carinthian Plebiscite 1920

Abstract

The diploma thesis analyses press, reactions and propaganda of the Carinthian plebiscite from 1920. The empirical part focuses on the analysis of press reactions and their propaganda of the Carinthian plebiscite. The theoretical part consists of historical background, factors contributing to press development and cause for the plebiscite. Printed media from that time was of vital importance as it was the only way of mass information exchange. Therefore, they are crucial for understanding the propaganda strategies of that time.
