In this work, the conditions of the wooden skeleton of the Lutheran cellar, which is about 400 years old, was checked. As expected, we discovered damages of Common furniture beetle and House longhorn beetle and found traces of brown rot. The wooden ceiling consists of 24 beams. We visually examined each of them, measured humidity in three places and performed mechanical resistance measurements with Resistograph. Elemental analysis was used to check if the installed wood had ever been protected with a biocidal agent or a fire retardant, and light microscopy was used to determine that the beams were made of Norway spruce and Silver fir wood. On the floor plan, we marked critical places where major deterioration or water leaks were detected. Because the Public Institute for Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Activities Sevnica wants to renovate the space in the coming years and use it for tourism purposes, it is necessary to restore the space accordingly. We wrote a renewal proposal and drew a cross-sectional sketch of the window sash and frame that will be installed in the Lutheran cellar to prevent climate fluctuations. The renewal proposal contains the prevention of water access and above all, ensuring optimal air ventilation.
