In 2003 the Slovenian military carried out the compulsory military service for the last time. With that the part of compulsory military obligation was abandoned. That means its execution in peace time was abolished, a part of the law of compulsory military duty was suspended. Slovenian army went from combined manning to completely volunteer manning in 2010. I approached this topic by analysing the reasons and factors that were used and trough that I was looking for pro and cons of conscript army. I sorted the reasons and factors into categories. None of the categories changed in a significant way, that would support reintroduction of compulsory military duty. I determined this by collecting recent evaluations, opinions, proposals and polls. I completed my analysis with my own poll on the opinion of Slovenian youth, who would be the potential conscripts. The results showed that majority of Slovenian youth does not support conscription. In the case of systematic assistance and support half of them would like to go to volunteer military service.
