Abstract
Upodobitve golega človeškega telesa so v antiki imele izključno pozitiven pomen, na prehodu v srednji vek pa so večinoma pridobile negativnejšo konotacijo. Sočasno se je povečeval nabor vsebin, ki so vključevale goloto. Podobe golega človeškega telesa v cerkveni arhitekturni plastiki 11. in 12. stoletja so na tedanje gledalce najverjetneje naredile močan vtis. Hkrati je povsem verjetno, da so različne skupine gledalcev te podobe dojemale različno. Skozi nalogo sledimo upodobitvam z erotično vsebino in pozitivno konotacijo, delno ali povsem golim figuram z moralnim pomenom in nenazadnje skrajno grotesknim, opolzkim ali izmaličenim podobam, kjer najpogosteje goloto prevlada gesta. Motivi, ki so vključevali upodobitve golega človeškega telesa, so imeli znotraj različnih kontekstov in okolij različne funkcije in pomene. Njihova vloga se je skozi čas lahko spreminjala.

Title:
Nudity in medieval architectural sculpture
Abstract:
In the ancient time representation of the nude body had only positive association. In transition from the ancient to the medieval world it took on more negative connotation. The meanings associated with nudity expanded. The representation of nude human body in the 11th and 12th Century sculpture most likely made great impression on the medieval audience. It is possible that different groups of medieval viewers understood those images differently - images with erotic meaning and positive overtone, partually and completely naked figures with moralizing exemplum and extremely grotesque representation where nudity is second to gesture. Portrayals of nude body had different meaning that were dependent on the given context. Their function could also have changed as the time passed.
