Abstract

Title:Experiental learning of preschool children with a light table
Abstract:
The purpose of the diploma work is to present a light table to professionals in the kindergarten as an aid to carry out the planned activities and activities of the children's choice in the age group 5-6 years, which can also be turned into activities for younger children. The light board is a flat device of various sizes and shapes for play and learning. It emits LED light, which illuminates the things we place on it. We described the theory of experiential learning, the field of technical education in kindergarten, light tables and aids that can be used when working with a light table. With a questionnaire, we researched the knowledge of light tables among educators. The results showed that most of the participants had already heard of the light table, but more than half of the participants had not yet used it for activities for various reasons. They assessed the usefulness of the light table for use in various areas of the curriculum, namely for the field of movement as the least useful and for the field of mathematics as the most useful. Almost all respondents believe that the use of a light table would motivate children highly for activities. Most of the respondents answered that light table would be used more often if there was a manual with collected ideas for activities on it, a translation of the collected ideas can be found in the appendix. During the research of theoretical starting points and the implementation of the practical part of the diploma thesis, it turned out that the light table is a tool that inspires children and motivates them for activities, and educators have a mostly positive opinion about this tool.
