Vibrations occur during machining process which affect the cutting quality. With analysing and better understanding the dynamics of cutting processes, we can optimise the cutting parameters. Process dynamics depends on various input parameters. We did the analysis based on industrial ceramics with facing lathe operation. We were measuring the accelerations on the cutting tool holder. We analyse the measurement data in time and frequency domain. We found out that the vibration frequencies that occur in lathe machining of the industrial ceramics are much higher that frequencies which are normally presented in lathe machining of the conventional materials.
