Brežičani v predmarčni dobi v luči matičnih knjig

V magistrskem delu skušamo ugotoviti, kakšni so bili demografski trendi v župniji Brežice v predmarčnem obdobju in ugotoviti kateri so bili zgodovinski vzroki in dejavniki, ki so vplivali nanje. Delo ima namen odgovoriti tudi na vprašanje, kako se je župnija Brežice v tem obdobju na podlagi demografskih podatkov umeščala v južnoštajerski in širši slovenski prostor ter ali je mogoče podobne trende, kot jih spremljamo v Brežicah, zaslediti tudi preko meje s Hrvaško. Raziskava je bila opravljena na podlagi podatkov, ki jih je o župniji sv. Lovrenca v Brežicah mogoče pridobiti iz krstnih, poročnih in mrliških matičnih knjig ter z analizo strokovne literature.

• Title: The citizens of Brežice in the period of Vormärz through lens of parish registers

Abstract

This master’s thesis examines trends in demographics of the Brežice parish during the period of Vormärz and attempts to determine the historical causes and factors which influenced them. Furthermore, the thesis aims to compare the demographical trends found in Brežice to the wider trends present across southern Styria and the wider space inhabited by Slovenians, as well as comparisons with demographical trends across the Croatian border. Research was based on the data which could be gleaned about the Parish of St. Laurence in Brežice with the aid of parish registers of christenings, weddings, and deaths, as well as an analysis of secondary sources.
