The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis is to design women’s wear with kaleidoscope as inspiration. The inspiration for the collection came from the kaleidoscope and symmetric shapes that it makes.
The theoretical part presents modern fashion and fusion between different styles. Following is research of already existing collections with the same inspiration. In this part, I also described computer program Tuxpi that helped me create kaleidoscope photos of pre-existing clothes such as blouses, blazers and coats.
In the experimental part, I presented the Kaleidoscope collection, the colour palette of the collection, the materials used and the initial collages. I have shown the process from the pictures I created following the example of a kaleidoscope to the technical solutions of silhouettes. Final pieces are also shown in technical sketches and photographs.
The final result of this diploma thesis is a women’s collection inspired by the symmetry of kaleidoscope reflections.
