This diploma thesis is generally a biography of Colonel Ernest Breznikar. The presentation of his life represents his personal history, which, for easier understanding and placement in space and time, interwines with national history. From Breznikar's birth to adolescence not only his life but the history of Senovo, where he comes from, is described. It is precisely during his youth that he began with the activities that still characterize him today: sports, theatre and military education. All activities together shaped him and contributed to his intership, which he still has today. He served his military service at the School for Reserve Infantry Officers in Bileća. He later got a job in the Teritorrial Defense. As the commander of the municipal headquarters of the Krško Teritorrial Defense he opposed the surrender of weapons to the military force of the Yugoslav People's Army during the war for Slovenia's independence. A big leap in his career is indicated by the fact that he was invited to participate in a secret operation of the National Defense Maneuvering Structure and from this title became the Chief of the National Defense Maneuvering Structure in Posavje. During the war of indepence for Slovenia he was the commander of 25th regional headquarters of the Teritorial Defense.
