Cordyceps militaris is a traditional Chinese medicinal mushroom. It is known
to contain many active ingredients, including cordycepin. Cordycepine is a derivative of
the nucleoside adenosine and has many healing properties. As part of the diploma thesis,
a literature review of the isolation and purification of cordycepin from the fungus
Cordyceps militaris is presented. Factors influencing the effectiveness of cordycepin
isolation and purification are also described.
