Abstract
Pričujoče diplomsko delo se ukvarja s prenosom vesterna v slovensko okolje, kot se ta kaže na primeru slovenskega pohorskega vesterna Stekle lisice. Ker vestern zaradi svoje specifične mitologije, vezane na zgodovino Divjega zahoda, ki prikazuje boje med staroselci in belimi priseljenci, velja za enega najbolj ameriških žanrov, diplomsko delo raziskuje, kako nacionalna filmografija, predvsem film Stekle lisice, odraža slovensko nacionalno identiteto. Prvi del predstavlja teorijo s področja zamišljenih skupnosti, nacionalnega filma in kulturnega prenosa. Drugi del pa teorijo aplicira na izbran film in poskuša ugotoviti, ali gre v primeru Steklih lisic za prenos žanra v slovensko okolje ter v kolikšni meri film naslavlja slovensko nacionalno identiteto.

Title:Sly Foxes – the first Western from the Pohorje region: Can Western be condisdered as a Slovenian national film? : diplomsko delo
Abstract:
The following work researches the transmission of the Western genre into the Slovene cultural environment and takes as an example the Western from the Pohorje region, Sly Foxes. Because the Western is considered to be one of the most American genres due to its specific mythology, connected with the history of the Wild West, showing battles between Native Americans and European settlers, the work researches, how the national filmography, mainly the film Sly Foxes, incorporated elements of the Slovene national identity. The first part introduces the theory of imagined communities, of the national filmography and of the cultural transmission. The second part takes that theory, applies it to a chosen film and tries to see, whether the film Sly Foxes can be considered as an example of cultural transmission and how deeply it is addressing the Slovene national identity.
