The purpose of the diploma is to design two types of alloy wheels, which are made by the casting and forging process. As the automotive industry expands and evolves, technology is moving forward and creating ever easier processes to carry out production.
The theoretical part includes an overview of general information about alloy wheels, production processes, use, basic materials for alloy wheels, a description of the advantages and disadvantages of aluminum alloy wheels compared to other materials, following by a description and pictorial presentation of the details that make up the wheel and a detailed description of wheel manufacturing processes. The entire wheel design process was performed in the program for industrial 3D design Autodesk Inventor, along with a brief presentation of the purpose and use of the program.
In the practical part there is a description of the entire process of making a alloy wheel model. The work is based on a previously hand-drawn sketches of an automobile alloy wheel. Based on the dimensions and the drawn sketches of the products, step by step an alloy wheel was created as a final product. The final result of diploma work is an animation.
