In my graduation thesis, I research the image of an upbringing and educational institution as depicted in the Slovenian drama film Posledice (Consequences). The aim of the research was to find out, what is the general impression of undergraduate and postgraduate students of the programme Social Work about this institution. I wanted to find out, what was their impression of the professionals employed there, how they see the collaboration between the youth, their families and the institution and how can the film contribute to reflexion and further improvement of such institutions. Lastly, my aim was also to see, whether there were any differences between the impressions of the students of under- and postgraduate programme. The research pointed out that the students see the depicted institution in a more negative way and that they believe, that it was rather insufficient in supporting the youth. Their impression of the institution’s employees was also mainly negative, which can be seen in their descriptions about the professionals' work there. Their impression of the collaboration between the youth, the family and the professionals in the institution was mostly negative, due to insufficient communication between the three parties. They also feel that the inclusion of the family in the process was inappropriate. According to students’ opinion the film Posledice contributed to a (negative) recognisability of such institutions. Furthermore, the film pointed out some issues regarding such institutions and showed the reality inside them. The film could also contribute to the improvement of the professional work and the working methods. No significant differences between the opinions of the students of undergraduate and postgraduate programme Social Work were noticed.
