The purpose of this diploma thesis was to design and produce a magazine to showcase the village of Log pod Mangartom. The Theoretical part describes the meaning of magazine as a medium, meaning of graphic design and evolution of magazine design through history. This Thesis Discusses some of the recommendations and principles of graphic design to achieve good visual appearance, organised content and proper communication of the graphic product. It describes the graphical tools and elements used in the designing publications, such as page layout, grid, hierarchy, pagination, typography, colors and photography. The experimental part of the thesis was describing the planning and designing procedures of the magazine itself. Firstly, an analysis of existing similar publications about the village was examined. Secondly the importance and the reason for designing the magazine was explained. That was followed by collecting the material, articles, and photos, followed by page design process which determines number of pages, page layout, grid, pagination, typography selection, editing of photography material and selecting the overal style of design.
