Laser welding enables fast, accurate and flexible joining of materials, so it is increasingly used in many production areas. Thesis is related to laser welding control, which is based on the use of a video camera to monitor a wider area of welding. The development of the LED lighting module is represented, which is used to illuminate the observed surface so that, in addition to the melt pool, a wider environment, such as the contact between the sheets, can be seen with a video camera. Based on the initial system, we select the main parameters that need to be considered when designing illumination for welding control. We develop and manufacture a water-cooled structural for LED diode of which the operating temperature does not exceed 35 °C at a light power of 6.4 W. We present various intensity profiles that can be obtained by adjusting the distance between the fresnel lens and the LED diode. In the end, we present the use of the developed illumination in the monitoring of laser welding.
