The intention of diploma thesis was to present the development of a 3D character for implementation in all visual communications tools. In addition to character development the development of the surroundings is also shown, which consists of houses, trees and clouds. The target group are the children of the first school triad, the aim of the diploma thesis was to create a character that children at this age will understand correctly. In the theoretical part, the diploma thesis includes a description of the elements and individual steps covered by the theory of character development. We highlighted the visual and psychological impact that form has on us, and we did research on physical and psychological impact of colour. Understanding the elements of character development theory is crucial in developing a character from which we expected to have desired visual message. The following is a description of the 3D character development pipeline. The software used to model the character and surroundings is Blender, which is briefly described in the theoretical part. In the second part, we first tackled the conceptual design. We presented a draft of the character and the surroundings. The description and pictorial material show the process of modelling individual parts of the character and the surrounding. After finishing the modelling, we started adding materials and textures. We determined the colour scheme and texture and applied the selected to the objects. For the texture, we determined the appearance of the clay, i.e. the appearance of the fingerprints on the objects. The application of the texture is described in detail. We selected a suitable composition that was illuminated with soft light. This was followed by rendering, where we described the settings of individual rendering parameters. We completed the diploma thesis with examples of the use of the character and obtaining the opinions of the target group.
